Dr. Boer was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan where his father was completing seminary training at Calvin College. As a pastor, the Boer family moved around spending some years in Idaho, Prince Edward Island (Canada) and Gary, Indiana.

Over these years Dr. Boer became involved in many sports like hockey, soccer and baseball, but his focus was wrestling. Injuries came with sports and the Boer family utilized traditional medical treatments for a few unfortunate fractures, but primarily utilized alternative medicine for ultimate sport performance. Nutrition, reflexology, chiropractic and osteopathic treatments gave Dr. Boer the vitality of health to passionately compete and thus ranked the number 2 wrestler in Illinois.

This life experience with traditional and alternative medicine was the driving force that resulted in his decision to attend the pre-medicine program at Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, Illinois. However, a major health challenge was about to change the direction of Dr. Boer’s life. Intense and debilitating lower back pain started suddenly and without cause. Traditional medical specialists had no answers.

Alternative medicine once again helped restore Dr. Boer’s health, so instead of traditional medical training, Dr. Boer followed his heart into the field of Chiropractic.

Graduating from the National College of Chiropractic in 1994, Dr. Boer continued his training in Acupuncture, Manipulation Under Anesthesia (MUA), Nutrition and Sports Injury.

In 1998, Dr. Boer became a Diplomat in Pain Management thru The American Academy of Pain Management. The AAPM focused on cutting-edge interdisciplinary evidence-based treatment research and training. However, finding local medical specialists who were trained in using treatments like Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) were not to be found. Patients needed these treatment options.

Thus, this lack of knowledgeable providers was the inspiration for Dr. Boer to return to school. In 2005, Dr. Boer completed the Physician Assistant program and, therefore, became the first provider in his area to offer PRP and Stem Cell treatments for patients.

In 2018, Dr. Boer was recognized by the AAPM with the award of “Excellence in Continued Medical Education”, given to only 25 physicians nationwide for 20 years of ongoing training in pain management treatments.

Now in Nevada, as a Certified Tribal Healer in the Turtle Healing Band Clinic of Las Vegas, Dr. Boer is still accepting new patients for the treatment of acute injuries and a variety of chronic pain conditions.

These alternative medicine treatments utilizing specialized protocols of oral and IV nutrition, Platelet Rich Plasma and Stem Cell (IV and injections) procedures that can help to improve and restore your health and vitality.
